In 2018-2022, he represented Wards 9 and 10 on the Brampton City Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the Mayor is absent, Singh will preside over Council and other committee meetings and perform ceremonial and civic duties on behalf of the Mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his role as Brampton’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Harkirat Singh will bring dedication, hard work, and results to the city, said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a release by Brampton City Council, Brown said: “Entering his second term as a Councillor, and having served as a School Trustee before, I am confident he will represent and serve the City of Brampton well in this role.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He served as a Peel District School Board Trustee for four years prior to becoming a City Councillor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to his role as a Trustee, he served on several Committees, including the Audit, Instructional Program, and Curriculum Committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointment of me as Deputy Mayor of Brampton for this term is a great honour for me. I am excited and proud to work with Mayor Brown and Councillors to prioritize the community in our City as we move forward,” Singh said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
