In order to precisely guide the vehicle to the target, it is equipped with an indigenously developed advanced control system, navigation and guidance algorithm and two-stage solid motor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Data collected by a number of range sensors including radar, telemetry and electro-optical tracking stations during the flight test validated that all the sub-systems performed as expected.<br \/>DRDO and other teams involved in the successful flight trials of AD-1 have been congratulated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, hailing it as an interceptor with advanced technologies that very few nations in the world possess.<br \/>This will strengthen India&#8217;s BMD capability to the next level, he said.<br \/>In addition, DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat congratulated his team on the successful trial of the AD-1 interceptor, saying it provides great operational flexibility for users and is capable of engaging a wide range of targets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Off the coast of Odisha, the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted the maiden flight test of its phase-II Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) interceptor AD-1 missile.
