{"id":88167,"date":"2022-10-06T10:02:47","date_gmt":"2022-10-06T04:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dailypunjabtimes.com\/english\/?p=88167"},"modified":"2022-10-06T10:02:48","modified_gmt":"2022-10-06T04:32:48","slug":"a-california-family-of-indian-origin-has-been-found-dead-after-being-kidnapped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dailypunjabtimes.com\/english\/a-california-family-of-indian-origin-has-been-found-dead-after-being-kidnapped\/","title":{"rendered":"A California family of Indian origin has been found dead after being kidnapped"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An 8-month-old child and three other members of an Indian-origin family were found dead in an orchard Thursday after being kidnapped in California&#8217;s Merced city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our worst fears have been confirmed,&#8221; said Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke after the bodies were found in an orchard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities announced the kidnapping after releasing surveillance video showing an eight-month-old girl, her parents and uncle being abducted from their business Monday in Merced, in the San Joaquin Valley southeast of San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">California&#8217;s sheriff launched a search after they were abducted on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amandeep Singh (39), Jasdeep Singh (36), Jasleen Kaur (27), and their 8-month-old daughter Aroohi Dheri were identified as the victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to authorities, a convicted robber kidnapped the four and tried to kill himself a day later.
