Former Karnataka<\/strong> Legislative Assembly speaker Ramesh Kumar <\/strong>on Thursday, during a Congress protest condemning the Enforcement Directorate (ED) case against Sonia Gandhi made a controversial statement claiming the party men had ‘made enough money in the name of Gandhis’ which has provided fresh ammunition for the ruling BJP government to attack the opposition party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Sonia Gandhi is facing a tough time. She has lost her husband, mother-in-law, we must stand with her. In the name of Nehru, Indira and Sonia Gandhi, we have earned enough to last for next three to four generations, if we don’t stand by her now there will be worms in our meals,” Ramesh Kumar said during his address at Freedom Park in Bengaluru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Srinivaspur MLA made the comments when the Congress staged a protest in support of Sonia Gandhi who is facing money laundering charges in the National Herald case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After the event, Ramesh Kumar was seen justifying his comment and said he won’t take back his words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “I will not take back my words. I always speak directly. We have benefited a lot from the Gandhi family and we must stand by Sonia Gandhi at this time,” Ramesh Kumar said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar took to Twitter and mocked Ramesh Kumar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n State BJP also slammed Ramesh Kumar on Twitter for his comments and said, “Ramesh Kumar is worried about repaying debt to the fake Gandhi family but is not bothered about people who kept them in power for 60 years.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Former Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar.
