Domestic benchmark indices ended higher for second consecutive session on Thursday with heavy support from IT and banking stocks. S&P BSE Sensex settled at 56,858 levels, adding almost 1042 points or 1.87% and the CNX Nifty50 shut shop near 16,930 levels, surging almost 288 points or 1.73% from its previous close.
Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and SBI Life were the top Nifty gainers while Shree Cements, Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cements, Dr Reddy’s and Cipla were the top laggards.
