A new and improved Vande Bharat Express will be launched today from Gandhinagar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Gujarat for two days.
A new age of comfortable and enhanced rail travel has begun with the debut of the Vande Bharat Express, the most anticipated semi-high speed train ever constructed.
Gandhinagar-Mumbai train will connect the Gujarat and Maharashtra state capitals.
According to Sumit Thakur, CPRO of Western Railway zone, “The Vande Bharat Express offers a myriad of superior amenities, providing passengers with an aircraft-like journey as well as advanced safety features, including Kavach technology – an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System.”
It has bogies with completely suspended traction motors for a maximum operating speed of 160 kmph, as well as an improved suspension system that provides a smooth and safe ride as well as better riding experience for passengers.
According to Thakur, all classes had reclining chairs, and Executive Coach seats rotate 180 degrees.
“each coach has a 32-inch screen providing passengers with information and entertainment. Divyang-friendly washrooms and Braille seat numbers are also available.”
There have been two earlier Vande Bharat trains between New Delhi and Varanasi and New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
