In response to criticism of the state’s law and order situation, the Punjab government has banned the public display of firearms, including on social media, and the promotion of gun culture through songs.
Within the next three months, weapons licenses will be reviewed, and no new licenses will be issued. Recently, there have been several shooting incidents in the state, which have given the Opposition ammunition to criticize the AAP.
In the order, weapons should be banned from public gatherings, weddings, etc. Hate speech FIRs have also been directed to be filed.
