At his residence in Badal village, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal met nearly 30 SGPC members (from Malwa) amid the ongoing controversy over the election of the new SGPC chief.
The sitting SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami has again been fielded by the SAD, while suspended SAD leader and former Sikh body chief Bibi Jagir Kaur has also chosen to run.
Harjinder Singh Dhami is supported by the majority of SGPC members. As a result of the large number of SGPC members present today, a clear message has been sent to those who play into the hands of other parties,” said a leader of the SAD.
