Lieutenant General A Sengupta, commander of the Fire and Fury Corps, visited the forward areas of Siachen Glacier on Saturday to assess winter readiness.
“Fire and Fury Corps conducted a review of operational readiness and winter readiness in the forward areas of Siachen Glacier. He expressed satisfaction with the high morale and motivation of the troops,” Fire and Fury Corps said in a tweet.
Since 1984, India and Pakistan have fought intermittently on the Siachen Glacier, the highest battleground on earth.
