Meanwhile, the Dutch politician, who posted his latest tweet on Sunday, stated that he was neither Indian nor a Hindu but was standing up for Nupur Sharma because he believed secularism shouldn’t mean that demeaning Hindu gods is acceptable while lying about Muhammad should not.
Geert Wilders, in a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said, ‘Only criminals and terrorists use street violence to express their religious intolerance and hate’.
Wilders, who holds far-right views on Islam and a range of other topics, called on Indians to rally around Nupur Sharma a few days ago. Nupur Sharma spoke the truth about Muhammad and was condemned for her comments by Arab countries in a tweet, he said.
