At least four civilians were killed while seven others were critically injured in a firing incident in the Dangri area of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
At around 7.15 pm, a firing incident occurred in the Upper Dangri area near a higher secondary school, in the Rajouri district, in which over 10 people, including a woman and a child, were injured, according to an official statement.
The three deceased have been identified as Satish (45), Deepak (23) and Pretam (56). Others are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC), Rajouri.
“Four people died and seven others were injured after three houses were targeted by terrorists in Upper Dangri area of Rajouri district. Two people were brought to GMC Jammu for treatment while five others are being treated in Rajouri. The entire area has been cordoned off and terrorists will be caught soon,” ADGP Mukesh Singh said.
Preliminary inquiry from a survivor, who is being treated at GMC, Rajouri, suggests that it was a terror attack in which they got fired upon by the terrorists.
Security forces have reached the spot and a search operation has been launched by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Indian Army.
